Congratulations to newly-weds, Gareth & Connie

Gareth & Connie in the studio with their handmade wedding rings

Congratulations to newly-weds Gareth and Connie who made their wedding rings with me in the studio in May, and said 'I do' just a couple of weeks ago.

Connie is a very talented papercutting artist (find her amazing creations online at www.thetinymaker.com) also based here in Swadlincote, and there is something so extra special about having the chance to share your craft with a local fellow maker.

Gareth and Connie were a pleasure to teach, and made the most beautiful wedding rings. Connie used 9 carat yellow gold for her wedding ring, and the design had a twist and subtle curve so that it nestles perfectly next to her engagement ring. She chose a lovely smooth polished finish. Gareth chose 9 carat white gold in a flat profile, and really enjoyed texturing it with a hammer to create a bespoke surface finish.

They both added their initials 'C & G' to the inside of their wedding rings using stamps, for that extra personal touch.

They said 'We loved the day and the end results - we can't believe we turned the bars of gold into actual wedding rings' when they shared how much they enjoyed the day on Connie's Artist page on Instagram.

'Thank you Louise! We had such a lovely time making our wedding rings. You are an amazing teacher and so patient! Thanks again, Connie & Gareth x'
