To create the rustic bark texture on these cufflinks, the surface of the silver is hammered, oxidised (where the silver is blackened) then rubbed back, leaving the recesses darker and a matt brushed silver finish. This creates the irregular 'striped' effect. The edges by contrast are polished. There is also a barreled curve to the surface profile, and they are fitted with whale tail cufflink backs.
The design is a classic cufflink shape, but with this unusual surface texture, makes them ideal for someone who loves the outdoors (a gardener or someone who works with trees perhaps) and would be great to wear to an event such as a woodland wedding.
