This necklace combines deep blue lapis lazuli with flared silver tube sections, creating this lovely tactile pendant. I flare each silver section individually with a doming punch, so they are ever so slightly different, much like the sections of a bamboo cane, which inspired this design.
Lapis lazuli is a deep celestial blue metamorphic rock, often flecked with specks of gold, which is why it is often compared to the night sky. It is thought to hold the spiritual meanings of courage, wisdom and truth. Lapis lazuli is also the birthstone for September.
The pendant hangs from the choice of a 41cm (16”), 46cm (18”) or 51cm (20”) long sterling silver snake chain.
