This necklace combines beautiful amethyst with flared silver tube sections, creating this lovely tactile pendant. I flare each silver section individually with a doming punch, so they are ever so slightly different, much like the sections of a bamboo cane, which inspired this design.
Amethyst with its beautiful purple colouration is a prized gemstone of the quartz family, and holds the spiritual meaning of groundedness. Amongst its healing properties it is thought to relieve stress, dissolve negativity, alleviate grief and sadness, be healing and protective, and is considered a gemstone of peace. Amethyst is also the birthstone for February, and can be gifted on the 6th wedding anniversary (modern gift).
The pendant hangs from the choice of a 41cm (16”), 46cm (18”) or 51cm (20”) long sterling silver snake chain, in the photo the model wears the 46cm (18”) version.
