Making their own wedding rings (and memories too)

Over the last few months, the studio has been busy with couples making memories that will last forever by creating their wedding rings at my wedding ring workshops. It always feels such a privilege to help couples create their wedding rings which will become such a personal and significant symbol of their upcoming marriage.

Following on from our initial in person consultation last summer, Libby and Ryan came to the studio in late February to make their wedding rings. Libby chose 18 carat yellow gold (to match with her engagement ring) with a twist design and delicate hammered texture finish, and Ryan chose 9 carat yellow gold with a hammered texture finish. They both added a personalised stamping to the inside of their rings, which they practised on copper before applying to the gold.

As part of the day, I took photos as a keepsake to tell the story of the process of creating their own rings.

I'd love to share their wonderful words that they wrote following their workshop day in this Google Review:

"We had such a wonderful time with Louise, from the initial consultation to the actual ring making day! She is so so lovely and passionate about her craft, it was a joy to spend time with somebody willing to share their knowledge with us. We were booked in for making our rings last year, but we had an emergency which meant we had to completely cancel our wedding and postpone the ring making indefinitely.

There was a lot of admin with all the cancellations and we were so worried about letting people down and causing conflict, but Louise was unbelievably kind and really understood our situation. She was more than accommodating for rearranging a new date, no matter how far in the future (and it was worth the wait!).

I would highly recommend anybody wanting to exchange rings to do this workshop rather than going to a shop - it was such a fun day and the rings will always be a reminder of it as well as our marriage. Both of our rings are so unique and special to us, and you’ll have the freedom and guidance from Louise to make them however you choose. The cost is more than reasonable for what you get from the experience and final products too. Honestly can’t thank Louise enough, absolutely fab :)"
