I will teach you a set of basic traditional silversmithing skills, including how to cut, file, form, solder and polish silver to create your silver jewellery(s).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou will make and finish at least one piece of silver jewellery on this course, depending upon how complicated your designs are. The day will be flexible so you could make any of the following: rings, bracelets, bangles, pendants, earrings or any combination of these. You’ll leave the workshop with pieces to wear and treasure, as well as a new set of skills which can be applied to future projects.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5\u003eWhat is included:\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe workshop price includes up to 10g of silver to use to make your jewellery. Additional silver, if you require it, is available to purchase on the day at £4.00 per gram.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTea and coffee provided. We will take a break halfway through the day for lunch, which is not included. (The postcode is DE11 9DG). There is limited free parking at the museum and free all day parking in the local town centre car parks. Alexandra Road car park is a two minute walk from the studio (the postcode is DE11 8JL).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5\u003eYour tutor:\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI have been working as a jeweller and silversmith since I graduated from my degree in 2005, and began teaching early on as a means to support my practice, initially teaching an evening class at Hereford College of Art. I found that I love sharing my skills with people, so I wrote two books ('\u003ca href=\"\/products\/making-silver-jewellery-paperback\"\u003eMaking Silver Jewellery\u003c\/a\u003e' and '\u003ca href=\"\/products\/fold-forming-for-metalsmiths-jewellers-paperback\"\u003eFold Forming for Jewellers and Metalsmiths\u003c\/a\u003e’) and created my own range of jewellery making courses. I hope that if you join me here in the studio you will fall in love with this special craft just as I did when I first started making jewellery!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5\u003eClass size:\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue to the small size of the studio, classes are for either one or two people.
